The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) was formed in 1950. Today, it comprises more than 200 national diabetes associations in over 160 countries, with the aim of representing the interests of the growing number of people with, or at risk of, diabetes worldwide. It endeavors to promote diabetes care and prevention, and to find a cure, from arranging programs at community level to encouraging worldwide awareness and advocacy initiatives.
